Well-Established Reference Laboratory Dedicated to Stone Analysis
Formed in 1972, our specialty laboratory has performed and perfected one test: calculus analysis. We examine approximately 50,000 stones annually, serving more than 10,000 clients throughout the United States and internationally. Our comprehensive stone analysis consists of region-by-region fracture dissection. Stones are examined from nidus to surface crystals by optical crystallography, which is the method preferred by most medical professionals. This technique provides the essential information for proper treatment.
About Us
The Urolithiasis Laboratory has been in business for more than 45 years under the ownership and direction of Dr. Donald Griffith. He is devoted to the management and treatment of stone disease and has been published in both medical and veterinary journals. He is currently working on a project to help improve the quality of life for patients with continence issues.
We have analyzed more than 1.5 million stones since our inception, and our current certified medical technologists total more than 38 years of experience. Hand dissection of each sample assures the most accurate result, allowing for better treatment strategies and lower chance of recurrence.
